PROGRAM

The 2-day theory course on the 3 Step Technique is a highly intensive course. Participants will be immersed in an enormous amount of clinical information. More than 60 clinical cases will be presented, since the course is very clinically oriented.

1. Dental erosion: why, how, when

Who are the patients affected, how are they treated according to the literature. Debate: conventional treatment should be avoided or at least postponed (crowns versus adhesive dentistry). New concept of full mouth adhesive rehabilitation to restore patients affected by severe dental erosion.

2. The 3 Step Technique

The technique: predictable results, minimal tooth preparation, highest level of patient acceptance. Presentation of several cases of patients affected by severe dental erosion and treated following the 3 Step Technique. 5-6 year follow-up. Explanation of how to plan and execute this type of full-mouth adhesive rehabilitation.

3. The ACE classification and treatment planning

New classification for the quantification of the severity of dental destruction to guide clinicians and patients in the decision-making process. Correlation of the damage at the level of the anterior maxillary teeth to the consequent possible options of treatment. Six categories: classification parameters and its dental treatment plan suggested. Several cases of patients affected by dental erosion. Treatment plan discussed in details, with possible complications and solutions.

4. Modified 3 Step Technique and new trend. The posterior teeth

Restoration of some teeth, but not all. Presentation of clinical cases and their follow-up. Pressed ceramic restorations or CAD CAM composite restorations implementation in this new trend.

FRANCESCA VAILATI

After receiving her medical degree from the University of Bari (Italy) in 1996, Dr. Vailati left Europe to pursue her dental education in the United States. In 2000 she received her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania (USA), and in 2003 she earned a certificate in Prosthodontics along with a M.S.D. degree from the University of Connecticut (USA).

After returning to Europe in 2003, she joined the department of Fixed Prosthodontic headed by Prof. Urs Belser at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), where she remains as a senior lecturer. Dr. Vailati maintains a part-time private practice in Geneva, dedicated to aesthetic restorative dentistry and prosthodontics.

She has contributed several articles in the field of restorative dentistry and implantology and lectures on a variety of topics related to full mouth adhesive rehabilitation and implant prosthodontics.

If a participant is unable to attend the course and informs LDA after 28 December, the full fee will be charged. If we have to cancel the course, no fee will be charged, but we will not be liable for any costs that the participant may incur. We cannot be held liable if invited guest speaker cancels a course. If a participant is unable to attend the course and informs LDA before 28 December, 2015, only 10% of the fee will be charged.
